Federstan- Fetherston-Fetherstonhaugh-Fetherstone-Featherstonhaugh-Featherston-Featherstone,
these are just some of the name transformations seen in our surname over the last 1,000 years.

We also have more than a few local variants Feverstone in Kent, Fatherston and Fatherson In Cheshire and Staffordshire and Featherstun in the south east of the USA.

Our Society dedicated to finding Featherstone Families worldwide, was formed in 1997, and many members have passed through our ranks, some leaving behind valuable research into Featherstone’s ( no matter how it was spelt).

Probably the earliest image we have is of a Cuthbert who served in Elizabeth I’s court.
